Escape New York. . . . .
Our big event, Escape New York – “ENY” - is around the corner. It is our showcase event of the year.
This one day, September 16, 2017, is perhaps the single most shining day of the year for the New York
Cycle Club.
It is the culmination of a year’s work by some 225+ New York Cycle Club volunteers. It is the day we
bring the NYCC style of cycling to our community. To define that style, one only need come out on the
All Class Club ride where 200 plus members meet for a festive BBQ lunch. Or how ‘bout joining the 125
or so members who went to the Berkshires to ride and party over Memorial Day Weekend. That’s our
style; New Paltz on July 4 th weekend, a springtime when hundreds of club members of all cycling
interests ride in our renown SIG program and learn about their bikes, their bodies, how to be a
better/safer cyclist, and make lifetime friends.
Whether we earn $4 dollars on ENY or $4,000 or $40,000, every single dollar is donated to a charitable
group in our community. Typically, that charity helps inner city kids readily find fun and joy and health
in their life. That’s our style, the New York Cycle Club style, that’s what we do. That’s what we will bring
to our community this September 16 th . I signed up to volunteer to help out on September 16 th , to be one
of our 225+ members who volunteer to bring the NYCC to our community. Volunteers get to participate
in the ride for free. Nevertheless, I purchased two tickets. Helping kids in our city find a nice day – to be
able to be a part of that for the price of riding my bike with our Club and our guests – heck, that was an
easy decision.

New York Cycle Club is all about.
