September 2016 President's Message
ENY . . . .
September is ENY month – our Club’s annual Escape New York ride. Approximately 200 or so NYCC volunteers have been working all year long to make this day happen. Hundreds and hundreds of people, cyclists, will have a wonderful day as a result of the work of so many of our members. We never cease to amaze me.
You know what else? ENY is what we do to give back to our community. Indeed, every single penny earned on this event is donated to a worthy cause in our City. Whether it be giving inner city children the opportunity to experience a summer outdoors, helping make the streets or our city a little bit safer for pedestrians and cyclists, or helping an ill person find a day’s joy – ENY makes life for our neighbors a little bit better.
The New York Cycle Club does lots of great things. Nothing surpasses the time, effort, contribution our membership makes to create a great day for so many people. I purchased a ticket to participate in ENY – two tickets in fact. I will also be a volunteer. I hope you will join me.
I am proud to be a member of the New York Cycle Club.
