The Board of Directors. . . .

The Board of Directors of the New York Cycle Club, unsung heroes!  They deserve our thanks and so much more.

The board, they do everything!  Can you imagine; coordinating 6 or 7 or 8 SIG’s – hundreds of club members, trains, meeting places, whoa.  Memorial Day weekend – that just ain’t gonna happen without the Board.  Ice Cream social – easy, no problem.  Yeah, sure – no problem my foot.  Monthly meetings, programs, food.  Rides every Saturday and Sunday, every single day of the week for that matter.  ENY – enabling us to give back so much to our community.  The bleeping website – yikes!  That’s our address, our clubhouse, our communications central, it is where we meet, it is our heart.  How would we know about anything if not for our fantastic website?  And on and on and on.

The Board of Directors – unsung heroes.  I’ve heard gossip about bickering on the Board, about indecision, about yelling and screaming.  That’s gobbledygook!  I sit on the board, I have a prime seat, I see with my eyes, I know.  And what I see is not bickering, I see passion for the Club, love for the members, for “creating activities for the enjoyment of our members and the furtherance of bicycling as a means of companionship”.  It’s all for us. Everything in the New York Cycle Club happens for us as a result of the board’s passion for us.

Look into a clear night sky, the brightest shining stars – those are the Board Of Directors of the New York Cycle Club . . . up late at night, figuring out ways to enrich our lives. The “BOD”, you’re amazing, you are the best.  Oh behalf of every member of the New York Cycle Club, a huge heartfelt thank you.
