Covers interesting terrain with 3 major ascents. Can save 12 miles by taking Berme> Institution Rd> Plank Rd> 55> 55A> Yagerville Rd. If so, fluid stop at Peters on 209 just before turn onto 55, bypassing Plank Rd On the return, consider taking the Hudson Valley Rail Trail off S Riverside Ave, the left off of New Paltz Rd from 299. The deli in West Shokan on 28A was open as of 6/2014.
This current route has been improved over the original by Gerald Seppey. It avoids the worst of Rt 52 and refines other aspects and is the A STS final ride of 2012.
