A message from Club President Christy Guzzetta

Presidential Prerogative . . .

Being President is very cool – I get to do things – it’s called “Presidential Prerogative”.   I am going to exercise my Presidential Prerogative – I’m going to do something right now.

Here’s what I am going to do . . listen up. . . . at each membership meeting, I am going to present our “Volunteer of the Month” with a trophy – yes I am!  Their name will be inscribed on this trophy along with the words, “NYCC Volunteer of the Month”.  One a month, each month, at each membership meeting, beginning September, 2016.

How am I going to select the Volunteer of the Month, you ask?  I am not – you are.  You will nominate a person who has distinguished him/herself during the preceding month.  Send your nomination to – President@NYCC.org.  I have formed a committee consisting of 1 ‘A’ rider, 1 ’B’ rider, and 1 ‘C’ rider.  I will submit the nominations you give me to the committee and they will select the winner.  The committee members have insisted they remain anonymous – they do not want members lobbying them, pressuring them, trying to influence them.  They want to make their selections with a clear head.  Don’t even ask who they are – I ain’t telling!

I know how you all look forward to my “President’s Message” each month; how you put aside your New Yorker Magazine, your New York Times, your Velo News, and other mundane reading material to be sure you don’t miss my President’s Message.  My message has been posted on the carousel for the entire month.  Now it will be posted for only the first two weeks of the month. The following 2 weeks will be a message about the Volunteer of the Month, thanking them for making our lives in the NYCC as rich as it is.

Start thinking who you are going to nominate – send your nomination to President@NYCC.org.  One more way for us to thank the people who make our lives in our club as bright and colorful and rewarding as it is.

Presidential Prerogative, it’s a wonderful thing!
