Start at Queens Blvd. & Union Blvd. (former home of the Statue of Civic Virtue). Kew Gardens subway stop on the E & F lines. Nice route out to the North Shore...picnic by the water...see how the other half lives.  This route includes a loop through Cold Spring Harbor before lunch. It includes the 10+% climb up Moore's Hill Rd.  Lots of nice scenery along the way.  Pick up lunch at Harborside Deli. (Turn left onto sidewalk at South St. Deli is on left. Then cross Main St. again and continue up South St. towards water.)  If it's too cold to picnic, continue west on Main St. across South St. for several restaurant/cafe choices.  Route ends at Forest Hills- 71st Ave. subway stop (E, F, R, M).
